march 03:
The Furious Five (2024) on the occasion of UN World Wildlife Day (since 1973)

The UN World Wildlife Day is a day of remembrance introduced as part of the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. In light of this, I am showing the Furious Five, the sidekicks of the panda Poo from the film series "Kung Fu Panda". In the fourth – annoyingly bad, I saw it in the cinema – part, the Furious Five do not appear at all. This is due to the high-calibre and therefore incredibly expensive casting of their dubbing voices: the film would have had to earn two billion dollars at the box office to make a profit if the five stars mentioned below had continued to voice their characters. One of the producers spoke of 20 million dollars for one line from Angelina Jolie aka Tigress.
‍

‍

In real life, the Furious Five, with the exception of the crane, are considered endangered species.
‍

Image 1: Monkey (Jackie Chan).
Four of the six great ape species are threatened with extinction.
‍
Image 2: Mantis (Seth Rogan).
In Germany, the praying mantis is on the Red List of endangered species.
‍
Image 3: Crane (David Cross).
Thanks to extensive international and national conservation measures, the crane population is no longer considered endangered.
‍
Image 4: Tigress (Angelina Jolie).
The tiger is highly endangered. In the last 150 years, it has lost almost 95% of its habitat.
‍
Image 5: Viper (Lucy Liu).
Endangered in Europe.
